Continuous Publication Policy
Continuous Publication Policy
Introduction:
The Journal of Sustainable Research in Applied Sciences is committed to providing fast and effective scientific publishing services that ensure accepted manuscripts reach the academic community as quickly as possible. Therefore, the journal adopts the Continuous Publication model, which reduces waiting times and enhances knowledge dissemination.
1. Definition of Continuous Publication:
Continuous publication is a publishing model in which accepted manuscripts are published individually as soon as the peer-review and technical editing processes are completed, without waiting for the completion of a full issue. The published articles are later compiled within a designated time frame (e.g., semi-annual or quarterly) into a volume and issue, which are added to the journal’s archive.
2. Advantages of this Model:
-
Faster availability of research after final acceptance.
-
Increased opportunities for early citations, enhancing research impact.
-
Reduced time pressure on both researchers and editorial teams.
3. Bilingual Publishing and Translation:
The journal publishes articles in both Arabic and English and requires authors to submit two abstracts: one in the article’s original language and another in the opposite language (Arabic/English).
-
For manuscripts submitted in Arabic, the English abstract must be written in proper scientific language.
-
The journal provides optional language editing support through certified reviewers upon request.
-
Automated translations without human proofreading are not permitted.
4. Article Numbering:
Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) upon publication, in addition to a volume, issue number, and an internal serial number. All articles are incorporated into the appropriate issue and volume according to the annual publishing schedule.
5. General Publishing Schedule:
The journal publishes two issues per year (January–June / July–December). Articles published under the continuous publication system are included in the current active issue, which is closed at the end of its designated period, after which the next issue cycle begins.
6. Publication Dates:
Each published paper indicates the following dates:
-
Date of submission
-
Date of acceptance
-
Date of actual publication (first online availability)
7. Copyright and Author Rights:
-
Authors retain copyright while granting the journal the right of first publication.
-
The journal adheres to ethical standards regarding permissible citation and plagiarism limits.
-
Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest or funding support.
8. Open Access:
The journal is funded by the Research and Consultation Center at the University of Misurata and does not charge authors any publication or access fees. It follows a fully open access model, making all published articles freely available for reading and downloading without restrictions.
9. Licensing Policy:
Articles are published under a Creative Commons License, allowing use and redistribution provided proper attribution to the original source is made.
10. Reuse and Archiving Policy:
-
Authors may archive copies of their articles on personal or institutional websites.
-
The original publication in the journal must be acknowledged in any re-use.
11. Withdrawal and Corrections:
-
Articles cannot be withdrawn after acceptance except for documented reasons and with the approval of the Editor-in-Chief.
-
If a major error is identified after publication, authors must formally request either a correction or retraction.
12. Citation Metrics:
The journal monitors citation rates of published articles through academic databases such as Google Scholar and Crossref. Citation metrics are considered indicators of the journal’s quality and scientific impact, and such data will be published periodically once available.
