Abstract

Pesticides are widely used in agricultural, industrial, and residential settings to control pests and weeds, but their use has raised significant concerns about their impact on aquatic ecosystems, particularly on fish health. This review examines the effects of pesticides on fish, including acute and chronic toxicity, behavioral changes, reproductive disorders, and biochemical alterations. The study also discusses the mechanisms of pesticide action, the pathways of pesticide entry into aquatic environments, and the implications for fish populations and aquatic ecosystems. The findings suggest that pesticides pose a significant threat to fish health and aquatic biodiversity, highlighting the need for stricter regulations and alternative pest management strategies.
